About Jocelyn Burden

Hello! My name is Jocelyn Burden (Joy) for short, and I am a Clinical Mental Health Intern at Liberty University in Lynchburg.

I am currently pursuing my Master’s -in -counseling LCPC at Liberty University, where I have developed a strong foundation in therapeutic techniques and client-centered care. Although I have received a Master of Science in Human Services, from Purdue University Global, my passion for mental health stems from a desire to help individuals navigate life's challenges and achieve their personal goals.

I have had the opportunity to work with diverse populations, including adolescents, adults, and families. I have been able to specifically work in many environments dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and many more areas of recovery, and I am committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for my clients. During my internship, I plan to continue to learn and grow more.

In my practice, I utilize a holistic approach, integrating cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and strength-based strategies to empower clients on their journey to wellness. I believe in the importance of building a strong therapeutic relationship and striving to create a space where clients feel heard, understood, and valued.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy Family, Zumba, music, and friends which help me maintain a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.

I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and support you in achieving your mental health goals.
